GD ReliefGD Relief features a potent and comprehensive proprietary enzyme blend designed to aid in the digestion of all macronutrients, incorporating fungal, bacterial, and plant enzymes. This high-potency formula also offers specific Aid for the digestion of gluten and dairy.
Extracts from Aspergillus oryzae are particularly abundant in prolyl endopeptidases and dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV). DPP-IV, a versatile serine-protease, specifically targets proline-containing peptides present in proteolytically resistant proteins like gliadin and casein. Aspergillus oryzae's protease activity zeroes in on the proline-rich 33-mer of gliadin, a notably immunotoxic peptide derived from gluten. The proline-rich proteins in gluten, known for triggering inflammatory responses in individuals with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, can still induce reactions even in those following a gluten-free Nutrition Plan due to inadvertent gluten exposure. Supplementation with protease from Aspergillus oryzae has also been associated with an increased abundance of beneficial bacteria, specifically Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus, in experimental models, hinting at a potential probiotic effect.
GD Relief includes serratiopeptidase, a proteolytic enzyme known for its potent anti-inflammatory and fibrinolytic properties. Clinical trials have demonstrated its efficacy in mitigating LPS-induced inflammation, particularly beneficial for acute and chronic ear, nose, and throat disorders. The formula also incorporates lipase for fat digestion, lactase for metabolizing milk sugar, and a variety of enzymes derived from bacteria, fungi, papaya (papain), and pineapple (bromelain). These enzymes, including alpha-amylase, cellulase, glucoamylase, and alpha-galactosidase, work together to ensure comprehensive carbohydrate digestion. For instance, alpha-galactosidase from Aspergillus niger targets saccharides in soybeans and other legumes that are otherwise indigestible by humans.
Benefits
- Fungal and bacterial proteases hydrolyze difficult-to-digest proline- containing peptides, such as gluten and casein
- Serratiopeptidase has proteolytic as well as anti-inflammatory activity
- Lipase and lactase provide Aid for fat and milk sugar digestion, respectively
- Plant-based papain, bromelain, and fungal digestive enzymes Aid wide-spectrum carbohydrate digestion
- High-potency formulation allows for easy dosing, with 375 mg of enzyme blend delivered in each vegetarian capsule
